Organically Grown Wines at Napa's Costco? Here Are Some Best Buys: Grgich Chard, Heitz Cab, Preston Petite Sirah and More
Bargains abound
I recently stopped by the newly opened Costco in Napa to see for myself what treasures its wine department might offer, after hearing so much hype.
I was a little underwhelmed. I think it was just too much hype. But…yes, there are gems. but not that many.
BUT, many organically grown wines from fine producers were for sale – and for less than other outlets.
One could certainly put together a great gift basket including any of these bottles. Or just shop for everyday and special wines.
I will say Preston is always a favorite for my taste, and Grgich and Heitz speak for themselves. Kudos to Clay Shannon for becoming organic and making affordable wines and to Villa Creek in Paso Robles for its devotion to Rhones (grown biodynamically on its estate).
